Dagmar Margaret (Axell) Nutting, 83, died Oct. 23, in at her daughter's home in Catskill, N.Y.Born Sept. 13, 1920, in Hamden, Conn., she was the daughter of the late Hugo and Ida Axell.

She was a graduate of Larsen College in Hamden.

She had lived for 35 years in Leverett.

Mrs. Nutting worked as a research laboratory assistant to her husband, who was a zoology professor at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.

She was a talented artist and illustrated several technical natural history publications, brochures for Northeast Utilities and designs for the town of Leverett.

She volunteered for numerous local activities.

Her husband, William B. Nutting, died earlier.

She leaves a daughter, Margaret Greason, of Catskill; a son, Emil T. Dahiquist, of Simsbury, Conn.; three stepdaughters, Grace Nutting, of Cody, Wyo., Jaye Thurlow, of Hubbardston, and Anna Foster, of Amherst; a sister, Astrid L. Nelson, of Hamden; a brother, Charles L. Axell, of Ocala, Fla.; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.

There are no calling hours.

Millspaugh Camerato Funeral Home in Catskill, N.Y., is in charge of arrangements.
